Rydges Parramatta

Rydges Parramatta is our Official Accommodation Partner for Diwali Mela on Sunday 1 November and for Vinod Rathod Live in Concert on Saturday 14 November. If you are coming in from interstate, from the Central Coast or the Illawarra, or simply from the far side of Sydney, this is the hotel we are pointing people to.

The reason is geography. The hotel sits at 116 James Ruse Drive in Rosehill, directly opposite Rosehill Gardens Racecourse and two minutes' walk from Rosehill station — which puts you beside Parramatta CBD, a short run from Prince Alfred Square where the Mela is held, and a straightforward drive to The Regency at Auburn for the concert. Sydney Airport is about twenty-five minutes away. You can arrive, check in, and walk into a full day of the Mela without having worked out parking in the middle of Parramatta first.

That last point deserves its own line. Both of our November events draw big crowds into parts of Western Sydney where parking is the first thing to go. Rydges has more than 200 on-site spaces and offers them to guests at a discounted daily rate, so the car is dealt with before the day starts.

It is a four-star hotel with 151 rooms and suites, from Superior Kings through to the Panorama Suite with its floor-to-ceiling windows, and every bed is a Rydges Dream Bed — which matters more than it sounds after eight hours on your feet at a mela, or after a concert that finishes at ten at night. There is an indoor heated pool with a spa bath, a gym, free Wi-Fi throughout, and family rooms if you are travelling with children.

Mornings are handled by Stock Café and its RISE buffet breakfast; Champs Bar & Dining covers dinner and a drink afterwards, and room service runs daily. If you are making a weekend of it — Mela on the Sunday, or the concert on the Saturday night with a slow start on Sunday — there is enough on site that you do not have to go looking.
