Brisbane concert — full details and tickets

Saturday night instead of Friday

This is the change we are happiest about. The concert was on a Friday, which meant anyone travelling in from the Gold Coast, Toowoomba or the Sunshine Coast was doing it straight after work, in Friday traffic, with a start time they had to race to meet.

A Saturday removes all of that. Nobody is leaving work early. Nobody is eating dinner in the car. Families can bring children without worrying about the school run the next morning, and anyone driving a long way can take the afternoon to do it. For a three-hour concert that finishes late in the evening, having Sunday ahead of you rather than a work day changes the whole evening.

A little closer to Brisbane

The original venue was in central Ipswich. Bellbird Park sits between Ipswich and Brisbane, which shortens the drive for anyone coming from the Brisbane side — the bulk of our Queensland audience.

We will be honest about this rather than overselling it: this is still a south-western venue, not a city one, and if you are coming from the Brisbane CBD you should allow proper driving time. What has changed is that the drive is shorter than it was, and there is on-site parking at the end of it.

Tickets are genuinely cheaper

Entry has come down from $95 to $79. At the other end, the most expensive seat in the house was $255 and is now $149 — a hundred dollars less for the best seats on the floor.

There are five categories now rather than a long list, which makes choosing simpler: Bronze at $79, Silver at $99, Gold at $109, Platinum at $129 and Diamond at $149. A family of four can now be in the room for $316 in Bronze, where the same four seats would have cost $380 before.

A Saturday night, with Sunday to follow

There is one more effect worth pointing out. A Saturday concert that finishes in the evening is a different proposition from a Friday one. You can stay to the last song, take your time getting home, and have Sunday to recover in.

For a three-hour show with a late finish, that is the difference between an evening you enjoy and one you spend watching the clock.

Brisbane — book your seats

If you booked for the original date

You do not need to do anything to get your money back. Every ticket bought for the original date and venue has already been refunded — we processed those refunds ourselves rather than asking anyone to apply for them.

Seats for the new date are on sale now, and people are booking them already. If you want to come on Saturday 21 November, please book again through EventBaba — your original seat is not carried across, because the new venue has a different layout.

Book for Saturday 21 November

With tickets now starting at $79 rather than $95, most people will pay less this time than they did the first time. If your refund has not appeared in your account, or anything about your booking does not look right, get in touch and we will chase it down for you.
